It seems thieves are not necessarily after one company – they don’t just concentrate on BT, as its equipment has been stolen and severely damaged before, but now Vodafone UK also fell victim to criminal damage.
It has been reported that Vodafone UK customers, especially those in the Southern parts of England, have been disconnected from the company’s text and voice messaging as well as mobile broadband services.
This happened because thieves have entered Vodafone’s technical facilities and vandalised some of its equipment roughly between 1…

ISPreview has just reported that Ofcom revealed that the communications regulator’s most recent study on the country’s broadband speeds is going to go public this Wednesday, March the 2nd.
Ofcom will publish its findings on as to whether the UK average fixed line broadband speeds have increased since the last study.

After Ofcom’s investigation into TalkTalk mis-selling its products as well as incorrectly billing 62,000 of its customers, the ISP is now expected to face the consequences and pay up.
It has been said that the broadband provider will now need to cough up as much as £2.5m as good-will payments and refunds – this news comes roughly 3 months after Ofcom’s official warning issued in November 2010.
The communications regulator now confirmed that TalkTalk was billing customers for its services even after the contract had terminated.
Additionally, it was found that debt…

Along with other firms, mobile operator and communications firm, O2, has revealed its Q4 results, ending on the 31st of December 2010, and it has reported yet another net customer growth.
It seems that the broadband provider currently has a subscriber base of 671,600 which has been boosted by Q4’s 7,800 net additions.
This is significantly less than the growth in Q2 and Q3 – +17,600 and 13,800 respectively, and it can be argued that this limits the success considerably.
Telefónica O2 UK said in its Fourth Quarter statement:
“Telefónica O2 UK’s wireline…

If you live in Hinckley and are a Virgin Media customer, chances are you will be “blown away” by the speeds the broadband provider can supply you with, at least that’s what Jon James thought.
And the good news is – it now has gone live, making Hinckley the first location in the Midlands, where customers are able to get speeds of up to 100Mbps.
According to Ofcom, the average UK broadband speeds are recorded to be 5.2Mbps as of May 2010, yet Virgin Media’s offered fibre solution is set to…

Using a domestic broadband package at work? Well don’t, said the business-based division of TalkTalk, accordingly called TalkTalk Business.

TalkTalk Business also found that some 70 per cent of SMEs were still using home broadband rather than the business option.
An additional half of small-to-medium enterprises said that they did not even…

It seems UK consumers stopped caring about the money they spent on broadband – they just wanted it superfast and super reliable, rather than super cheap.
A comparison website, Cable, has calculated that more than a third of customers surveyed valued faster broadband more than low rates or the perks of dealing with one provider for all three services, including TV, home phone and broadband.
It has been estimated that only one customer is five thought that inexpensive prices were more likely to make him consider to buy and bundle the…

It seems illegal downloads or more precisely putting an end to unlawful file sharing is the talk of the town these days, with music and film industry representatives and broadband providers such as BT , TalkTalk and Sky Broadband discussing the issues with the UK government.
What the debates are trying to achieve is to find legal ways for consumers to download music, films as well as other web-based content without feeling the need to get their hands on content unlawfully.
The talks come hand in hand with the controversial…
