The home of fibre optic broadband, Virgin Media, is set to trial a 1.5GB broadband service in Old Street London, otherwise known as the ‘Silicon Roundabout’.

Nokia and Microsoft have teamed up to create products they hope will storm the mobile market.
Today the tech giants confirmed their strategy for a 10 week deal to make the most of their combined products.
The once reigning phone giant, Nokia, collapsed in the face of competitors in February when it dropped plans for its own smartphone.
Instead, the mobile provider opted to focus on its partnership with Microsoft and the joint-venture plans to begin shipping devices by 2012.

It has been reported that Apple will begin shipping the highly awaited iPhone 5 later this year.
Reuters was told by three sources that the highly anticipated iPhone 5 would be shipped in September with production planned to start in July.

According to Ofcom’s recent study, Virgin Media is the ISP that gets least complained about, while TalkTalk’s customers are moaning away.
For landline and broadband services, the study looked at BT Retail, BSkyB, TalkTalk Group and Virgin Media.
When comparing the amount of complaints received by mobile service providers, Ofcom looked at Three (3), O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone.
In terms of landline and broadband services, TalkTalk was leading the pack for getting the most complaints for incorrectly billing consumers for cancelled services which was consequently investigated with the ISP being fined.

Sales of the iPhone almost doubled the tech giant’s profit in the last quarter as sales of the smartphone reached more than 18m.
Furthermore, over the past few months the company’s net income has increased by 85 per cent.

Today the High Court ruled in favour of the controversial DEA Act after BT and TalkTalk challenged it and declared it is a breach of customer freedom.
