Telecoms regulator, Ofcom, has today proposed new measures with regards to connectivity outages, which can potentially bring huge losses to businesses.

Swedish consumers have been introduced by telecommunications company Ericsson to the next generation of mobile broadband.
Long Term Evolution technology (LTE-Advanced), a form of 4G, is going to provide users with speeds of up to 1Gbps.
In comparison, mobile broadband services in the UK currently reach average speeds of up to 3.6Mbps.

Spying on people via the internet has now become patented by Microsoft after a two year long think.
This means that Microsoft can now create wiretaps for a variety of online communication systems, including voice and video calls via Skype (which it now owns).
According to the US patent office, the technology has been called a “Legal Intercept.”

Moments ago BT Openzone has scored a contract with Hilton Worldwide to deploy its wireless broadband internet services in hotel chains based in both the UK and Ireland.
This means that Hilton guests staying in more than 17,000 rooms will be able to enjoy Wi-Fi, high speed fixed line broadband as well as event and conference services.
The services will be also available in meeting rooms and public spaces within the hotel’s area.

Better broadband must be a priority for Oxfordshire, a business insider has recently claimed.
The Oxford Mail has recently reported that the President of the Oxfordshire Chamber of Commerce, Nigel Wild, said that upgrades are urgently needed within the area in order for businesses to have more chances to compete on a greater scale.

Newzbin, a linksharing site providing access to movies, music, videos and software, has been targeted by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) which is demanding for it to be shut down.
Last year, a High Court ordered Newzbin to cease its business but the company went into administration.

Moments ago it has been confirmed that Microsoft’s and BT’s masterminds along with other tech titans are teaming up in order to test spare spectrum usage for mobile broadband.
According to their calculations, if the trial proves to be successful, mobile broadband services will be significantly improved.
