It seems that Brits won’t go to just any hotel – it has to be a Wi-Fied one, Plusnet’s recent study has recently found.
More shockingly, the study found that on average a Briton would spend roughly 10 hours a day on the internet, according to those questioned in the North West, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and London.
However, it seems that our Wi-Fi addiction goes further than that with almost a fifth of us would go to Wi-Fied restaurants, pubs and shopping centres.
Plusnet’s Head of Business, was quoted as saying:

It appears that we’re not that disconnected after all, as the UK Government’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed that 19m of UK homes were connected to the internet which made up 77 per cent of all UK households (mind you, last year we were 73 per cent).
In addition, the vast majority of adults or 41m (82 per cent) have all browsed through the web.
While the news sounds cheerful, it is worth putting into perspective that roughly 9m UK adults have not used the internet at all – which…

While one might reckon that giving money to councils of rural communities might solve some broadband problems (the BDUK office is certainly of this opinion), a certain industry insider thinks otherwise.
In fact, according to Guy Jarvis, the founder of NextGenUs, what councils will do with the money is enhance their own broadband networks rather than invest in public broadband improvements.
Mr Jarvis was quoted by PCPro as saying:
“The councils have to have IT equipment and they haven’t got any capital money to spend, and this windfall arrived…
