MS3 to deploy fibre optic business broadband in Hull

More good news comes to Hull as MS3 Communications, an indie telecoms network, has agreed a £5.5m deal with Welch Civils Ltd to put together their first fibre optic infrastructure. According to the reports, the process will be kicked off with the first network reaching 50km. The project is independent from KC, which is the dominant ISP for Hull, and is going to concentrate on solutions for businesses. AVG will be adding “Do Not Track” technology to both its free and paid for services so consumers will be able to control more of their online privacy. London Overground to be Wi-Fied

More good news comes from wireless broadband operator, the Cloud, as after deploying Wi-Fi in an array of popular and luxury shops it wasted no time and signed a contract with London Overground Rail Operations Limited (LOROL) to roll out internet throughout the network starting as soon as this summer. Ofcom announces the latest customer satisfaction stats

TalkTalk received more customer complaints than any other broadband or landline provider in the final quarter of last year. This announcement comes from Ofcom, whose latest data showed that TalkTalk is still the most complained about provider. This is the fifth quarter that the company has been on top of this particular chart. Think of it as the Razzies of the broadband industry. Digital Rutland broadband plan gets the go ahead

Good news comes from the Rutland County Council (RCC) as it has been given the green light to go ahead with its Digital Rutland plan which aims to deliver superfast broadband (24Mbps or preferably more) to 90 per cent of the county and basic broadband to the remainder. Last year’s broadband growth fastest in five years

According to the Broadband Forum 2011, last year saw the fastest global broadband growth in five years. In 2011 internet services increased by 12.3 per cent globally, with Russia leading the way along with other Eastern European countries.
