BT takes further measures to stop copper theft

As copper thieves keep on striking, BT Openreach has announced that it will be joining forces with Crimestoppers, a charity which helps fight crime, to target and find no-gooders who keep on causing havoc to BT’s infrastructure, particularly in Doncaster and Humberside (Yorkshire, England). Copper thieves strike again – this time in Wales

It is indeed annoying when broadband consumers have internet service outages – and Welsh customers experienced exactly the above, as copper thieves stole cables from the Monmouthshire and Newport telephone exchanges. It has been reported that both Virgin Media as well as BT customers were affected by the no-gooders’ who walked off with more than 80 metres of cable taken from the location. Georgian granny leaves the whole of Armenia without internet

Digging for copper to sell it off probably is not such a good idea if you are in Georgia, especially as it is supplying 90 per cent of neighbouring Armenia’s internet services.
